What to expect from the 2022 Volvo XC40

The Volvo XC40 made quite the splash on the market when it was introduced 3 years ago. Featuring a bold design and a luxurious interior as well as all of the active safety and comfort technologies we have come to expect from Volvo, the XC40 has been a resounding success ever since. The 2022 Volvo XC40 should continue along those lines and provide consumers with a perfect blend of style, versatility, interior space, performance, and efficiency.

The Volvo XC40 lineup of engines should not change in 2022. That means that the base engine should continue to be the T4 which offers 187 horsepower along with 221 pound-feet of torque. The T5 engine will return as well with 248 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque. This makes the Volvo XC40 one of the most powerful small luxury SUVs in its price range. The XC40 delivers better performance with the T5 engine than the Mercedes-Benz GLA, the Audi Q3, the Lexus UX, or the BMW X1.

Introduced last year, the all-new Volvo XC40 Recharge offers 201 horsepower from a fully electric engine. This engine is powered by a 78 kilowatt hour battery that provides 320 km of range. With an affordable starting price and expansive features and luxuries, the Volvo XC40 is perfect for buyers who want an electric vehicle with style.

There is over 1,300 L of total cargo space in the Volvo XC40 and like past models, the 2022 version will allow you to tow up to 3,500 lb. This gives the XC40 the best towing capacity in its class. Give us a call today to learn more about the Volvo XC40.
