Volvo gives new XC60 to unsuspecting customer to celebrate 10,000 cars sold

Volvo has a historic year in 2019 with 10,155 units sold, an increase of more than 10 percent over 2018. To celebrate, Volvo gifted the 10,000 units sold to a couple from King City, Ontario. The young couple who have a newborn son received a 42-month lease on a 2019 Volvo XC60 R-Design.

“We are so grateful to both Volvo Cars Canada for this incredible gesture,” said Jason. “We invested considerable time looking for a vehicle that would best suit our family needs and with a new baby, safety was one of the largest factors in our decision to pick Volvo. We also loved the XC60’s styling, tech features and how it handled on the road.”

Volvo sold 960 models in December 2019, a 28.9 percent increase over December 2018.

“Today marked a historic day for Volvo and we were thrilled to be able to surprise a young family with the 10,000th unit at no cost to them,” said Adam Kostanowicz. “This unit benchmark would not have been possible without the dedication and continued efforts of our employees and Retailers and we look forward to even more growth for Volvo Cars in Canada in 2020 and beyond.”
