Volvo is one of the leading automakers in the industry right now when it comes to electrification. The Swedish automaker recently introduced significantly enhanced plug-in hybrid Recharge models with even more range and earlier this month the brand announced new technological enhancements for its Volvo Cars app that are aimed at making life easier for electric vehicle owners.
The goal of the Volvo Cars app has always been to help Volvo owners and give them more out of their ownership experience. Before the end of this year, the Volvo Cars app will add new functionality that will help electric vehicle owners find charging stations across North America, view which stations are available, and even pay using the Volvo Cars app.
In other words, Volvo will make it a lot easier to charge your electric vehicle by consolidating all of the information and features that you need to charge in one place. Using your Volvo Cars app, you will be able to find available charging stations, see charging status, and complete your payment for your charging session.
“Many of us are familiar with the frustration of having to navigate multiple apps and carrying multiple cards for different charging operators,” said Olivier Loedel, head of Electrification Ecosystem at Volvo Cars. “Our goal was to make life easier for our customers and remove one of the major barriers for customers to switch to an electric car. With the Volvo Cars app, we will create one digital charging platform.”
