New looks and more technologies in the 2022 Volvo XC60
The Volvo XC60 has always been ahead of the competition in terms of style and amenities. This year, Volvo gets an updated infotainment thanks to a Google Android-based interface while keeping its large and accessible touchscreen. The new software offers unlimited personalization options, a voice-assistant feature, and navigation via best-in-class Google Maps and a broad offer of native in-car apps via Google Play.
The interior’s style gets enhanced as well, thanks to the available City Weave cloth upholstery which really sets itself apart in terms of refinement.
Outside, the XC60 gets a few styling changes, including a tweaked grille, a reworked front bumper, updated wheel designs, and more. Engineers also upgraded the various radar, camera, and ultrasonic sensors to perfect the XC60’s driver-assistance systems.
A new list of powertrains for the 2022 Volvo XC60
The XC60 now offers the B5 and B6 engines which use a 48-volt hybrid system to enhance performance. The B5 engine is composed of a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine and a 48-volt hybrid system that provide a combined output of 247 horsepower. The B6 is powered by the same turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder as the B5, but adds a supercharger in the mix. The total output ranks in at 295 horsepower. The plug-in hybrid T8 remains, and it uses the B6 engine along with a set of electric motors that produce a combined output of 400 horsepower in the Recharge model. The performance-oriented Polestar Engineered model gets 415 horsepower. All engines are all mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission and Volvo’s state-of-the-art all-wheel drive system.
