How Volvo on Call Makes Your Life Easier in Winter

Canadian winters are some of the harshest in the world, with frigid temperatures and demanding road conditions for many months each year. Due to its experience with the similar Swedish winter, Volvo integrates a host of technologies in its cars in order to keep you safe and comfortable, no matter the weather, including Volvo On Call

Your comfort is assured

Volvo On Call offers you a host of connected services, among which is an app for your cell phone that gives you control over many functions of the vehicle. With this app, you can remote start your Volvo and have its cabin pre-heat while you are getting ready to leave, which means you will never have to enter a cold vehicle again. If you own an electric Volvo, the On-Call app can even let you pre-set your usual departure time and pre-heat the cabin of your vehicle automatically before you leave and while the car is still plugged-in, thus minimising the electricity needed to make you comfortable and maximising the range.

Your safety is a priority

Volvo’s reputation for safety goes back to its very first cars, over 90 years ago, and the current models are the safest ever made. Volvo On Call further enhances your safety by providing you with an automatic emergency calling service. A button marked “SOS” connects you with a On Call operator who will be able to see your position and alert the emergency services. If you cannot call the first responders yourself, Volvo On Call automatically places a call to the nearest emergency services if your vehicle’s air bags or seatbelt pretensioners are activated, in an effort to provide you with medical care as soon as possible. This is especially important in the winter because the road conditions are unpredictable and quick attention id crucial in case of an accident.
