Choosing an electric SUV is easier once the trim ladder is clear. The 2026 Volvo EX30 keeps its lineup tidy with three trims, so the decision comes down to how much comfort, audio, and driver assistance you want layered on top of the same compact electric platform. Each step up builds on the one below it rather than sending you into a different vehicle.
This guide walks through Core, Plus, and Ultra in order, spells out what each trim adds, and points to the kind of driver each one suits. Every EX30 shares the same core electric hardware, a heat pump, and Volvo’s safety foundation, so there is no wrong entry point.
Core is the foundation of the EX30 range, and it comes with the Single Motor Extended Range powertrain. That setup sends 268 hp to the rear wheels, reaches 100 km/h in 5.3 seconds, and travels up to 420 km on a charge. The cabin already includes the 12.3-inch centre display with Google built-in, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and one-pedal drive.
Core suits the driver who wants the longest single-charge range in the lineup and the essential technology without extra layers.
Plus builds on Core with the features that make daily driving more comfortable. A fixed panoramic roof brightens the cabin, Harman Kardon Premium Sound upgrades the audio, and wireless phone charging, a two-zone climate system, and a power tailgate join the list. An air quality system with remote cabin pre-cleaning and interior illumination at the high level round out the additions. At this trim, the Twin Motor Performance powertrain also becomes available, which brings all-wheel drive and 422 hp for drivers who want it.
Plus fits buyers who want everyday comfort and audio upgrades, plus the option to choose all-wheel drive.
Ultra is the top trim, and it focuses on driver assistance and parking confidence. It adds Pilot Assist, which supports steering and speed on well-marked roads, along with Park Pilot Assist and a 360-degree camera with a 3D view. Low-speed rear autobrake and lane change assist join the safety set as well. Like Plus, Ultra offers both the Single Motor Extended Range and Twin Motor Performance powertrains.
Ultra is the choice for drivers who want the most driver-assistance technology and the easiest parking experience the EX30 offers.
