2021 Volvo V60 Cross Country vs. 2021 Audi A4 allroad: The Cross Country Offers Practicality

The 2021 Volvo V60 Cross Country is designed to be one of the most versatile, functional and capable touring vehicles on the road today. Based on the successful V60 wagon but with a taller ride height and crossover accents, the Cross Country is poised to take on virtually any path. It also features standard AWD and rugged body cladding.

To help illustrate how the V60 Cross Country stands up to the segment, we compare it here to the 2021 Audi A4 allroad.

The 2021 Volvo V60 Cross Country carries an edge under the hood

The V60 Cross Country features a 2.0L turbocharged four-cylinder that produces 250 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque. To help find the right gear on the road or trail, the V60 CC has an advanced eight-speed automatic transmission that offers more than the allroad's seven-speed transmission. Four trim levels all include standard AWD, which adds safety and performance.

The Audi A4 allroad also includes a 2.0L turbocharged four-cylinder. The output is slightly higher than the V60 Cross Country, but in a vehicle of this type, a small power difference isn't much of a selling point, and the Volvo’s powertrain is much more refined and nimble than the A4’s.

The Volvo V60 Cross Country takes versatility seriously

Although the V60 CC is exceptionally stylish, it places comfort and versatility at the forefront. It features a relaxing 1,074 mm of front leg room and 1,425 mm of front shoulder room. The V60 CC also offers versatile cargo volume throughout the length of the vehicle. With the rear seats down, it includes 1,441 litres of space to pack in camping gear, luggage, skis, pets, and much more. When the rear row is occupied, it offers 695 litres of volume.

As far as styling goes the V60 CC offers a much more upscale environment, with Scandinavian-inspired materials and textures. The Volvo infotainment system is also much more intuitive, with a series of features that you will not find in the A4 Allroad.
